Description:

The aim of the activity is:
1) to facilitate participation of people with disabilities in healthy, attractive sports games as well as to provide their integration into society
2) to raise awareness in the society about problems of people with disabilities
3) to promote tough mass media sport as active recreation and rehabilitation, healthy activity for people with disabilities
4) to strengthen self-esteem of people with disabilities

Methods used are:
The main principle is principle of equality, thus, people with disabilities are equal members of the society without prejudice to their disability and everyone is empowered to participate in social life. The method used facilitates people themselves to be actively involved, as it was possible to participate not only as a team member but also individually.

Selection criteria:
	Innovativeness: This activity provides innovative application as it was implemented not only by the association but in co-operation with Valka county youngsters. Therefore during the event participants were involved in sports games and youngsters and Valka county municipality representatives gained experience about people with disabilities and their problems. As a result Valka county municipality representatives gained better understanding on need for environmental accessibility and other problems in municipality.
	Effectiveness: In total more than 110 participants took part in sports games. Chairperson of Valka county municipality has acknowledged that also in future thy will be open to co-operation showing their readiness to deal with problems of people with disabilities.
	Satisfaction: Participants of sport games were very satisfied and very good references have been received from other participant organisations.
	Dissemination: Main information dissemination channels were mass media and also direct information via e-mail and mail to other NGOs
	Exploitation: Sports games allow drawing out a person with disability from their daily routine and environment, involving them into active social life. In this kind of event with participation of government and municipality representatives a person with disability gains feeling that he/she is needed in this society. Therefore in future municipalities can more easily communicate with them in finding better solutions for life.
