Final event of the “Learning lab for Integration” project in Girona
The final event for the “Learning lab for Integration” project lead Espiral, Entitat de Serveis in Girona took place in the Hotel d’Entitats de Salt 20th November, and has worked for the education and labor inclusion of disabled people.

The follow –up event in Latvia and awarding of the contest “We are strong”
30.10.2009.
The follow up event and awarding ceremony that took place On October 30 at Spīķeru Concert hall gathered more than 70 participants who discussed best practice examples and greeted the winners of the contest. Five finalists were selected from more than 60 applications, but the best of the best this time was Liepājas Association of Blind with rehabilitation centre “School of life”. This centre is created to give support and social rehabilitation to the persons with sight and other disabilities, to promote their mastering of the social skills, integration in the social life and return in to the work market.

Watch the documentary about the integration of people with disabilities on TV 24

The documentary filmed during the project implementation about the integration of people with disabilities in Latvia, Spain and UK will be aired on TV 24 (Latvia) on September 27. The film will be aired with several repetitions during whole day. You can watch the movie also on website of the TV channel www.tv24.lv.

Premiere of the short film about the integration of the people with disability

During the project “Learning Lab for Integration” the short film about the inclusion of people with disabilities in education and employment fields was made. Its international premiere was on the 12th of May, during the training courses in Spain but the Latvian premiere will be held on the 10th of June, 2009.

International training for professionals

On the first day the training participants acquainted with each other and introduced the project and its results. Also presentation of the documental short film, which was made in the framework of the project about the good practice examples on integration of the people with disabilities, and a variety of motivational programs as well as a discussion about their public image and understanding of differences across the countries

A database of good practice examples on integration of people with disabilities is now available!

In the framework of the project "Learning Lab for Integration” a database of good examples for the integration of people with disabilities in education and employment was developed and is now available. The database currently compiles examples from Latvia, United Kingdom and Spain. In future it is planned to supplement the examples from these countries as well as add new examples from other countries.

Aggregation and popularization of good practice experience in education and integration in a labor market of people with disabilities in Latvia, Great Britain and Spain. This project will last for 2 years, and it will end in December 2009.
